Navigation services are attached to programs rather than the system, causing folks to restart the process with new navigators/case managers w/ varying levels of support
Voucher briefings only happen every month, causing big delays in issuance after match
Only one provider has access to transportation assistance and if you aren’t staying at that shelter, you can’t access support for housing search
Lease up time for BIPOC young people takes twice as many days as their peers
Improvement Project: Decrease the # of days from match to move in for BIPOC youth
Change idea: Dedicate one housing navigator (regardless of program) to support the next 5 BIPOC youth matched with vouchers.
Change idea: Pilot weekly voucher briefings with the Housing Authority for the next month.
