Welcome

The Anchor Community Initiative Resource Hub is a collection of resources, tools and case studies to help you use data to end youth and young adult homelessness in your community.

Using Data to Design a Test Guide

Summer 2024 Learning Session

Ⅰ. Look at your community’s system-level data

Examples:

A. Resource Hub (https://aciresourcehub.awayhomewa.org/

    1. ACI Dashboard

    2. Sandbox

B. YAB Feedback

C. Case Conferencing Tracker

Ⅱ. Identify an area of focus

Guiding Questions:

  • What stands out in the data? What trends do you see?

  • What are you curious about? What do you think is happening?

  • Where do you see an area for improvement?

Ⅲ. Decide on a Change Idea

Guiding Questions:

  • What are we trying to accomplish? What change do we want to see?

  • What small test of change can we try?

  • Why do we think this change will solve the problem?

Things to consider:

  • How are we addressing disproportionality?

  • Have we asked young people about this idea?

Ⅳ. Plan your Test

Determine how you will measure:

  • How will we know this change was an improvement?

  • What data do we need? How will we track it?

Set a specific goal:

  • By doing [change idea], we will [reduce, increase, etc.] [measurement- housing placements, exits to inactive, active unsheltered, etc. ] by [X amount] in [X days, months]

  • Does this goal excite us?!

Assign roles and follow-up:

  • Do you have the right people in the room to execute this plan?

  • Who will do what? By when?

  • When will we check in about progress? When will the test end?

  • TAKE ACTION!
